    Hi guys.....
I have bought several week ago.. a NEW TOSHIBA X208 (I live in Italy..so it's an european model) and I have tought to add in another moment a second hard disk to my X208 in the second box empty because the configuration for my country at the time was with only one hard drive...
    But TODAY THE PROBLEM!!!
I have opened the case where it should be mounted my second hard disc but there isn't the SATA CONNECTOR BUT ONLY THE SPACE FOR A "MIGHTY" ADAPTER..
In this first image you could see the space where should be the connector unfortunately without connector....

In the second image there is another X200 with its second hard drive and connector...
and this last one image is the MIGHTY connector
    [IMG]

I have also found this connector [IMG] from an HP Pavilion Dv9000 and I think it should be the same type of the one that I need!!!

    What do you think about?

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    Thanks

Unfortunately Toshiba in its infinite wisdom decided to omit the connectors and even RF shield in the second bay on models with one HDD. RF shield is this metal cover with holes. You can install HDD without it, but then it can interfere with nearby WiFi/Bluetooth radios.

Your best bet is to inquire in the official support about it. Maybe the connector must be soldered - I doubt youll manage it on your own ;)

seeing the image ... could you tell me if the connector from the Hp Pavilion 900Dv could fit to my x208 ? I have counted the pin and the number is the same .. and also the shape is the same.. so perhaps it could be mounted on my x208 only with 2 screws... what do you think?

I think you should ask in Toshiba tech support about it.

So you wouldnt fry anything by blindly trying.
And as I said, does it mount by simple contact? Shouldnt it be soldered?

Hi AYAMY! I was wondering if you were able to install the second drive? I've got the Japanese version (WXW) and planning to install another drive as well.

I"d install the new Hitachi Travelstar 500GB, to replace your current drive, and forget about a second drive.

    I have a X200-1AA (model for Portugal).
The same as yours, without the second HDD or connector.
I can tell you that I soldered all the pins from the missing connector to the sata interface on the HDD. And it didn't work. The BIOS didn't recognize it. So, I think it's more than just a connector missing. It's probably a controller or something.
But I still have a plan. I bought a Sata HDD enclosure. I'll try to connect the sata controller to the connector of one of the USB port, soldering the pins inside the computer.
But I still didn't get the patience or time to do it.

    Regards,
    Andre
