Right lads (and gals), now the fun begins..

These beautiful drivers finally allow these beasts to overclock AND play Bioshock.

So what are the 'safe limits' for overclock on the 8700M GT?

    I'm at around 820 Core, 1640 Shader, 875 Mem.

    3DMark06 = 5500.

    Any advances...

Note that to get 810MHz core clock i have to set 756MHz in Rivatuner (or nTune).

    Weird.

Anyone else have the same glitch?

Note, the speed you set it for is the actual clock, not what rivatuner shows you.

Thus you are at 756 and 825 or so...

776/1552/938 (what the clocks are set to, not what rivatuner shows)

    Please clarify,

Is my ACTUAL clock speed what is shown in the Rivatuner monitor (810) or what i set in rivatuner (756)???

Rivatuner reads the clocks a bit off for some reason, a glitch it's got... set them on the settings, and that's actually what you're running, and the monitor will just show them a bit off. Theres an offset setting you can tweak if ya want in there to in the options if i recall.

As for SLI overclocking, I've posted all sorts of results with the 169.01 drivers in other posts, check em out... but, the two 8600's in the SLI with some oeverclocking are giving me a bit over 8000 in 1280x854 res, so at 1280x1024 should be 7500 or better from my testing. Definately good stuff, love the drivers that are finally letting us overclock and run new games

Can't compete with you SLi guys, but this sure does dispell the myth that 8700GT is just an overclocked 8600GT.

Check this.. new record for me at 1280x854..

Should we up the core / shader clocks seperately?

Which one is the limiting factor when the are tied in 1:2 ratio?

How high can this memory go?

Anyone else cranking up this high at the moment?

On my 8700M GT I can go 776/1798/1000 artifact free, 3Hours DiRT stable...

Just try and see if it´s stable on your machine.

    ;)

It looks like my 8700GT can't go that high.

My screen goes blank for a bit, then it comes back and i have a message saying 'the graphics card stopped responding and has recovered'.

Problem is the clock speeds are way down. Looks like some sort of 'safe' mode. It's annoying because i can't get the speeds back up until i restart the computer. Takes forever (thanks Bill gates).

Does anyone else have this problem and know how to get o'clocking going again without having to restart?

Hey 3Putt, you should be able to run your memory a bit higher than 900. I've run mine quite a bit playing around in the 925-950 range, and haven't ever had any artifacts or problems, don't know how high it'll go but haven't need to find out yet ha... as for core speeds, you are stomping me there, as I'm running the SLi1 with two 8600's, so down around 600-650ish range is running good, but don't run it normally anywhere near that high as haven't needed to yet. 8700 is definately a good chip, I had one for a couple weeks I was playing with...
