Hey all - Would appreciate it if you could check your CPU temps. Mine seems to be running really hot. I checked it with speedfan and the core temps are between 90-100C at idle. Also, if I remember correctly air should be venting out of the back, which it isn't - though the underneath fans seem to be running.

Also, I reran the wei thing a couple times and it seems that everytime I run it the CPU score goes down - right now its 2.7. I believe it was 4.8 when I first got it. System performance seems to be down as well.

Is the CPU fan running? It is the one on the left that blows out of the left side of the computer. If it is running and blowing lots of air out of the left side, then your CPU heatsink may have loosened or detached. Your WEI is going down because the CPU is underclocking itself because of the temperature. DISCONTINUE ANY USE OF THIS LAPTOP OR THE CPU OR MOTHERBOARD MAY DIE. If it is still under warranty send it back to Toshiba for repair.

check your cpu speed like posted above with a program like Everest.... it'll tell you exactly what everything is doing with clock speeds and voltages and temps.

As for vents, on mine I've got the CPU vent on the left side, and the GPU on the right, yours should be the same... check under neither and see if you see both fans spinning, you should see them through the intakes on the bottom of the laptop with a flashlight.

When is the last time you blew the fan system out?

inside the laptop is a series of heatsinks/fans which pull heat away from your CPU/GPU.

if they get gunked up with hair/dust/etc like they probably will over time, then they work less well.

Mine runs at no higher than 70C after hours of a 30% overclock and heavy gaming. 90-100C is too hot, some part of your cooling is not working.
