well its the second time this has happend now, i am wondering if it has happend to anyone else

the hard drive makes a long beep and then a shorter one and it stops, while it is happening the HD activity light stays on without blinking and once it has stopped beeping it flashes and then goes blank again and works normal like nothing has happend....

I have the same problem. I read somewhere in this forum that it is caused by the hard drive. This makes sense because there is a sudden freeze when it happens.

I think I have the same problem, its random, like once a week or a few times a week, recently, not much, but the beeps happens, sometimes is one long and one short beep or two longs ones, dunno exactly. Right after it happens, my HDD does like a a "shooook" sound.
