I was looking into buying a 26" HDTV from Best Buy to use as a monitor while at home.

Has anyone tried this before? I want to know there is a way to do this so I can keep the lid closed on my X205. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard so I really have no use for anything underneath the hood.

Yes, I have played crysis on my 46" with HDMI...I don't think I had any problems

Any computer with a HDMI (or even VGA with HDMI adapter) output can be displayed on any HDTV. And yes, you can keep the lid closed while using your TV as the monitor. Just select in your video display setting.

don't forget to disable in your power options hibernate or shutdown on lid close or you laptop will go to sleep when you close it. also things to remember: if SLI is enabled you can output to one display only. Play with settings in nvidia panel to suit your needs
    have fun :)
