    I'm surprised there are no benches or impressions on this demo and how it runs. I want to see how your X205s play this game! Pictures /w FPS appreciated but not needed.

    Just downloaded the Crysis demo. I can't get any sound. Also, when I click Optimal Setting for Graphics, it's saying to switch the graphics to low. 800x600 screen plays well. But after I switch to high, it's slow.

    I got a x205-s9359.

    well i was playing it last night on medium settings at 1440x900 and it was playable. i changed the settings to 800x600 and put on very high settings just to see what would happen!!!!! well lets just say this game is demanding cause i would move my mouse and about 2 secs later i would move hahahaha. o i have a x205-s9349 with 169.01 drivers. i wish you could upgrade cards on this laptop but i know you can't. o well

    x205 9349 with 169 driver will play this game fine. depending on how much eye candy u want, i have it set to 1280x800 with all medium except low shaders and no AA. not sure on FPS exact numbers bu its definitely "playable" and definitely lookin good.

    To those using the 169 driver, can you play HDDVD movies?

    Yes but instead of using the modded inf from laptopvideo2go I copied the contents of the inf from the original Toshiba drivers into the nv_disp.inf file and changed only the following two lines:

    CatalogFile = NV_DISP.CAT
    DriverVer = 10/24/2007, 6.14.11.6901

    For some reason with the l2go inf HD DVDs wouldn't play. Now they work fine. There must be specific settings Toshiba adds to the inf.

    On a side note, Crysis plays MUCH better in dx9 mode. Add -dx9 to the shortcut.

    Come on what? They achieved the goal - people bought Vista and 8xxx generation GeForces.

    Now they can issue a statement that to truly take advantage of DX10, you will need yet new GeForce 9xxx ;)

    I remember somewhat similar when I've bought GeForce 2 - they promised it will be fully DX8 and pixel shader compliant, but turned out it wasnt, and I had to buy GF 3 again then.

    See opruitt's post in this thread for details on the driver mod.

    To run Crysis in dx9 mode just add the -dx9 switch to the shortcut.

    Right-click the shortcut and select Properties. Mine was originally "C:\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32\Crysis.exe". I changed it to "C:\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -dx9

    OK, finally got the demo downloaded and updated to the newest drivers, and Crysis is totally sweet! I missed most of the hype for this game, but was totally blown away with the demo! Very cool, actually feels like I'm in a dang jungle.... was very excited! And then they started shootin' at me, and the trees started gettin blown away and falling down! Sheesh, will definately be picking this one up as soon as it's released!

    But, back to a bit on topic, happy to report demo is running really well on the X205-SLi1's, for some reason I can't get 1440x900 as a choice, but 1280x800 is running great and looks beautiful! It's amazing how much vegetation and trees are on screen at any one time, which all constantly move.... it's gorgeous! Did drop down to DX9 mode as mentioned earlier, I honestly for the life of me in any of the games I've got can't tell why DX10 is any better?? World in Conflict, the new FSX Acceleration, Bioshock, or this, crysis.... DX9 looks better to me, atleast with whatever settings I'm running. Running Crysis with High Textures and Effects, medium everything else. Haven't spent any time tweaking or adjusting yet, or even benchmarking, but, was totally excited after playin with the demo and wanted to update that is does infact run great on the SLI rigs for any who were wondering.... SO GO TRY IT!

    Will play with settings and run some benchmarks tomorrow... g'night
