Recently I've been looking to upgrade my X205-S9349, so far I've decided on the T9300 processor and a 7200rpm HDD, just those two are about $500 USD.

The problem now is deciding on the graphics card, the highest the available to the x205 series' is the 8600m gt sli, but i'm wanting more gpu power. Is there another higher card that is available to the x205?

No, in terms of raw performance 8600m gt sli is the best for x200/205.

But you have to know that it will be almost impossible to actually obtain it separately, if you thinking about replacing video module. You can hardly buy MXM cards, and you have to pay insane money for them. As for Toshiba propietary video module - just forget about it.

Among MXM-II cards, there is hardly anything better than the 8600M GT SLI.

What CPU do you have (currently) ?

HDD upgrades improve window's performance alot. CPU upgrades, well it'll help in only CPU-intensive tasks, such as math calculations, CAD, Photoshop, Video encoding, etc.

Point is that X205 is not even MXM
Unfortunately video is the worst part there when it comes to upgrading. It twice as sad, because **** thing is a separate module and easily removable, just nowhere to find the modules on their own (except maybe just buying a another whole x205 notebook, maybe a broken one).

i currently have a T7100 and my hard drive is only 5400rpm.
Unfortunately when a laptop breaks, it's most likely the graphics that is friend anyways.

    Thanks for the help guys

I disagree... the first thing to go is almost always the power coupling in every laptop I have ever worked on. (and I have a pile of parts not far from my desk)

It is sad that Toshiba doesn't make upgrade modules since the x205 has a separate card for it.

Actually it does. Kinda. You can at least replace video module for one from another X200/205 model.
Look at the bottom of this thread - http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=308845

Though it sad that it does not do any official upgrades though.
But its understandable. They don't want you to upgrade, they want you to buy a new laptop.

i see i see, well i hope that this laptop lasts long. in the near future i'll probably upgrade to a T9300 and a better hard drive, as for the graphics card i'll start saving my pennies for a new laptop, it seems stupid to actually buy a new one unless they come down in price. Thanks for the link to spareparts warehouse.

also, will there be a significant amount of performance improvement on games by going from a 5400rpm hdd to a 7200rpm hdd?

and something off topic, is there anyway to allocate more ram to vram?
