    X205-S9800/8700m GT: What driver works for you?

    My old X205-S9800/Gefore 8700m GT has been pretty solid. Although, running Win7 X64 SP1, the ONLY working driver I can get to run stable are the Toshiba 176.xx Forceware Drivers. I've drivers from Laptop2Go and Nvidia's site, and they all come up with the same: BSOD, freezing within Win7 (not even in-game, just within Explorer), reboots.

    I thought I had luck with the Laptop2Go 185.81's but I was wrong, after a day, they were freezing and/or rebooting the machine. Latest from Nvidia, does the same. Cleaned drivers out, made no difference. If I went back to the old Toshiba 176.xx, no problems experienced.

    So, to those who still run an X205 series w/ Geforce 8700M GT, are you getting this issue? Or have you overcome them with a specific driver that works? Let me know. I don't want to retire it just yet.

    You can try generic Toshiba drivers from their "All Models Page".
    Model Content Page
    The latest nvidia driver available from Toshiba is the 296.

    Make sure it's Windows 7 and not a Windows 8 preview. [Win8 is 300+ driver]
