I am the new proud owner of a X205-S9800 Notebook after my good'ol Clevo D900K (motherboard most likely) took the plunge to death. I didn't like Vista, so I got XP on here which runs great except for the video drivers. They will install, usually do it through the 'have disk' method, but I will notice weird graphical anomalies (much like my D900K when testing out certain drivers with the 7800Go GTX).

Has anyone with a X205-S9800 found a sweet spot driver w/o any anomalies? I know in Vista, no problems... but sticking with Home Premium isn't an option since I use this laptop for work. I can put Vista Business, but I don't want to plunge into Vista just yet.

Looking for a working 8700M GT 512MB driver

I went back to Vista, but installed Vista Business (since I use this laptop for work too). There were video drivers problems with XP- every driver I tried put the weird graphics anomalies like when you move your cursor all these pixels would scatter wherever the mouse moves, constantly trailing/repeating itself. Also running the nvidia control panel would show graphical problems (with the 3d nvidia logo) when adjusting the performance balances. And this was with cleaning out drivers before installing new ones.

Vista- no problems, although Nvidia's official beta drivers for the 8700M GT don't work with this laptop. I had to get the ones from Toshiba to work.

174.74 seems the best for me, I have the earlier version of this laptop, but it shouldn't matter. Be sure to use the nvco.inf from the original package as it is the proper inf driver that should be better than any hacked one they can produce.

Only issue with Vista on here- Steam and any source games are broken, they won't launch and Valve forums are totally useless. Can't play HL2 or Orange Box. :(

It's freakin' weird how the drivers and XP would produce graphics anomalies and corruption, it's like a slightly different revision gpu chip/board. I had this same issue with my old D900K and 7800 Go GTX- I had to search for drivers that work flawlessly.

I'm running XP with the dual 8600m's, and I've been using 169.09 for several months with no issues. I haven't seen any reason to try the newer ones, but this one is stable with my video cards anyway.

I'll give XP another shot, I have spare sata drive to do additional testing/troubleshooting. Hopefully I can find a driver sweetspot w/o graphical issues.

Hello, I'm sorry for my poor english. I write from Argentina.
I want to buy a Toshiba s9810, buy I want install windows XP Pofessional.
I need security that it'll be work perfectly with XP. If I'm not sure of that, then I won't buy it.

Somebody can helm me? Somebody can send me where I can find the drivers for XP:
    - Driver for Sata disk (for Hard Disk detection in the WXP instalation process)
    - Mother drivers
    - Bluetooth and fingerprint drivers
    - Video drivers
    etc.

This computer is too expensive in Argentina and I can't make a mistake.

    Thank's everybody!!!
