Can ppl in here please confirm this, since it doesn't really make much sense:
X205-SLI2 - Has 1440×900 native resolution
X205-SLI4 - Has 1680×1050 native resolution
X205-SLI5 - Has 1440×900 native resolution
X205-SLI6 - Has 1440×900 native resolution
Looks to me like Toshiba has downgraded their WXGA+ 17″ display on their newest gaming laptops (SLI 5 and 6). Why??
Was it a mistake or does the SLI4 really have a native 1680×1050 display?
Also, I know that the 1440x900 supports native 720p, but does a 1680×1050 support 1080p, or not?

My SLi-4 has a 1680x1050 and an HD-DVD drive (bought like 2 days before HD-DVD ended development). It seems that they only come with regular DVD burners now too.

ohh..no HD-DVD drives on the new XLI 5 and 6...that makes more sense now why their prices are not any higher than the XLI 4. Yeah, I bought my SLI4 about 3 weeks ago from FRY's for $1999. Then I saw that the new XLI5 was selling for $1799. I checked the specs (although I didnt notice the missing HD DVD) and saw that the only downside was the lower display resolution compared to the XLI4 -- everything else were either the same or upgraded. I was thinking I got ripped off and was planning to try to return/exchange my SLI4 for the SLI5. Now, hearing that it doesnt have the HD-DVD drive and that it really has a lower res display, I'll just keep my SLI4....

personally, i'm glad i bought the SLi4, even though i paid $200 more than i could get it for just 2 weeks after i bought it. i'm dying for drivers to make my D-SLi worth using but i love the 1680x1050.
i was angry at first but now i wouldn't trade this resolution for the 0.4 GHz processor and 80 GB HD increase you get on the SLi6. plus, like others have stated, you only get a regular DVD drive, not HD.
once Toshiba starts putting XP drivers on their web site and puts out an official release for these 8600M's, this will be the best darn computer i'll need for a long time. -
I just checked Newegg and they say that the SLi-6 has 1680*1050. I still think that the SLi-4 is the best value though.
