This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I have an X205-Sli1 and it suddenly stopped playing HD DVDs. It plays regular DVDs no problem but when I insert the HD discs, the drive just spins and spins and doesn't seem to register. I've tried to uninstall and re-install the latest HD DVD player software and drivers (as per Toshiba's all but useless support team).

    Anybody else have this problem or have any suggestions/ideas?
