    so i got X205 s9359....month ago...im trying to learn how to use it since it is my first laptop and they dont give you owners manual...i went to toshiba website but the owners manual is more general and doesnt say anything how to use the TV tuner..............does anyone knows how it works and what it actualy does (local chanels?)....thanks and happy new year

    so i plug it all in ...multimedia screen came on...everything works fine but no signal....but i guess i was under the inpression this would be more portable tv tuner and that i will not have to plug it in to top set cable or satellite box......is it the only way it works....wired to cable or satelitte box????? if thats the case why would i watch the tv on laptop vs. my regular tv set????

    Is the HDMI port of the X205 version 1.1, 1.2, 1.2a or 1.3 ??

    It is indeed just a TV Tuner. You still have to have some type of input source, such as a cable box, sat box, or off air tuner.

    Its not really meant as a replacement for a television. For instance, I use it while traveling so I can have DVR functions in my hotel room instead of just basic cable.

    On a full blown media center PC you'd have it hooked up to your regular television, but its not as useful in laptop format.
