Ok...I have a question about the speakers on the X305. I am going to Australia in two weeks time to start college and I just want to know whether it's possible to repair/replace the speakers in my X305, as I think I may have accidentally busted them. There are some cackling or static-like sounds when playing music. I don't live in the States, which is where I bought my laptop. I am hoping someone could call and ask them whether it's possible to replace the speakers. If it's possible, can the Toshiba service centers in Australia do it? I hope someone can help me soon. Thanks for any help.

1. Have you tried all of your music?
2. Have you tried games or movies?
3. Have turned the volume too high, 90 and up?
4. Check the Realtek HD Audio Manager and adjust those settings, and the Maxx audio settings as well. -
1) There are songs that don't have them at all...but only recently when I went back and played them again and specifically listened for it, it was there in most songs.
2) There are games that have this if I turn the volume up high, as for movies, I have not watched any on my laptop yet
3) I did turn it up to 95 the first couple times when I got the laptop, but never after that, strange, since the cackling and static sounds only appeared two weeks ago.
4) Yup...nothing's been maxed out.
Thanks for replying my thread. I couldn't believe it when I saw over 50 views and not a single reply...thanks man. I appreciate your help =) hope I can get down to the solution for this... -
Sure, I am here to help.
And yeah, hopefully you can get this issue resolved.. I do have some crackling but its really on some songs because of the different frequencies, and having the volume up pretty high. Since you're still under warranty I see no reason why Toshiba wouldn't be able to help, especially at a minimal cost. -
Thanks! Oh..so it's not just me with this problem...hmm...I was wondering about it..since some songs had it and some didn't...then I wondered whether it was the quality of the songs or something. Hmm...Is it possible to replace the speakers though?

I believe so, but when you talk about replacing them, do u mean with the same set of speakers?
But finding the speakers i dont think would be possible, really. But it would probably be a hassle replacing them, they probably connect on the motherboard though so u can easily remove them. -

Yeah, thats the issue with a lot of people, kind of "importing" computers, or purchasing computers that aren't really supported or serviced in that area.
But I am sure sending it in will not be too much of a burden, except for time and money for shipping. -

could be here? u can get all 5 speakers replaced it seems but well over 100 dollars and taking it apart yourself?
if that isnt a option,
just hook up external speakers

Well...external speakers aren't an option now since I won't have anywhere to put it..But I've been looking at those for quite some time.. -

Ok, try this disassembly guide, courtesy of Chris, or cq842000.

The speakers actually can be unscrewed, it is like they are in a box. So the replacement should be quite easy. -
I only suggested logitech's cuz i like them and never had problems with any of my sets
