    I have a legal product key for win xp pro but have lost my disc, just wondering if anyone had a good copy I could get from them?

    i think the key has to match the cd. I'm not sure.

    Not really. You just need to match the kind of key you have to a disk.
    If you have a SP1 key, you probably need a XP SP1 disk, SP2 with SP2 disk, etc and then there is retail, oem, student, volume license agreement versions of XP.
