I got this Z835 with the ULV i3. One thing I noticed about it is as soon as you turn it on, there's a hum/grind coming from it. Presumably, it's the fan. It's low, but still is annoying in a quiet room. I was wondering if any other Z owners are experiencing this noise? Thanks for any help.

ai its a well reported issue, unfortunately as yet no fix from toshiba and bearing in mind the R series tosh's do it too and have been about for years and no fix it doesnt look good!

some are however louder than others, seems hit and miss with the quality of the installed fan!

I must have gotten one of the loud ones. It's pretty much on from a few seconds after turning it one until it shuts down. Thanks for the help.

ai the fans will always be on no matter what, same for all of them, but as said you either get a noisey or a quiet one

i havent heard any side by side but mines fairly loud if the rooms quiet, but soon as theres any background noise you can't hear anything and the laptop runs that cool anyway that the fan hardly ever ramps up! mines the i5 model :)
