So I've owned this a135 for almost 6 months.....I purchased it used, but to date, have had no major problems.

I've been dual booting, but recently had a lot of problems with my xp partition, so I reformatted, reinstalled, etc. etc.

there were some issues with the dual boot, but they were resolved

then when I was switching video drivers (from the 1431 to 1429), the system went into full hang in xp......completely unresponsive, even when holding the power button, I was unable to get it to turn off.

So I removed the battery while it was running, and since then, the system refused to post.

Initially I believed (read: hoped) I had just shorted one of the sticks of ram.....I had a [previously] known working stick, and tried putting that in, in both slots (as well as all the permutations of the other two sticks already in there), to no avail.

also attempts to hook it up to an external monitor have still failed to yield video of any kind

the laptop powers on, the power & battery lights act normal, and there is a quick flicker of the HDD light (regardless of it being in or not), followed by the HDD light staying on for about 1 full second or so, when the HDD is actually plugged in. The fan also spins, and the optical drive clicks a couple times, and a disc can be heard spinning if one is in the drive.

Other than that, it is completely unresponsive.

I have since disassembled it, with the intent of reseating the CPU, only to discover it has been epoxied into place on the corners.

I'm left to assume that I have managed to cook some aspect of the mainboard, and also have been unable to get it to start even after left to "warm up" for a period of 30 minutes (as some people have reported their a135's acting in a similar fashion when 'cold', but starting normally after being left in this black screen mode for a time).

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, especially considering a quick review of mainboards for this computer available on eBay showed them to go for $230+, and I only paid around $300 for the laptop in the first place.

Again, thanks in advance to anyone with any suggestions or recommendations.
