Try getting a Vista installation disc from someone else and do another install. Might be your discs from what I've read. Why did you have to do a recovery anyways? -
thanks Bart... disk error, i think the first was
now boot manager is not installed one month out of warranty
will be creative in it's destruction -
thanks for the links.....................
Well doesnt that suck and toshiba -
plus they want 39.95 for a new recovery disk............
no customer service...........
rant off toshiba sucks -
You said the boot manager is not installed. You could do what Bart said and get a Vista disc to repair/reinstall your OS. If not, you could try installing Ubuntu on it to overwrite the faulty/non-existent boot manager, but I guess in the end you'd still need a Vista disc.
PS. It's not that Toshiba sucks, they have a right to charge you for any services you need since you're out of warranty, that's why you should always buy an extended warranty for things like laptops where you can't really repair them yourself. -
well thank you for your opinion, perhaps I should have implied toshiba customer service lacks a little. ONE month out of warranty.. I guess we are all not as foesighted as you in expecting a system to fail.
Thanks for well lack of a better word NOTHING
at wits end
