    best way to rid of toshiba crapware?

    hey i just got my new x205, and there is tons of crapware preloaded on the computer(i've heard rumors that toshiba was bad about crapware, but i didn't realize there would be this much!). what is the best way to get rid of this stuff? shoud i just format my hd?

    Honestly, it's safer and easier to just remove the stuff you don't want then to head down the path of a clean install in my opinion if you are going to stick with Vista.

    That said, there are a number of threads here that have covered how to do a clean install in detail over the last couple of months.

    yeah thats what i figured...i actually just got done removing all the stuff that was on here. took me about 2 hours....lol. thanks for the quick reply though.

    clean install. I tried uninstalling everything on my Sli3, and couldn't get it to perform (Bioshock would barely run even in lowest settings). I personally did a clean install of XP and it's now running great. Others have posted running clean installs of Vista with performance improvements.

    Yeah, without a doubt, before ya get too involved with that setup, a clean vista install makes a world of difference, especially after running a few basic tweak guides. Definately my recommended way, actually goes pretty quick, and then you can install exactly what software and drivers you want.. but, if ya got your's setup how ya like, then that works too... have fun with the new machine! That's what matters!
