    bios problem after reseting password

    help me please!
    somehow i found that there is a password in the bios and i did never put that password and nobody touched my laptop. so i found a program to reset the password and after the reset it said that something ni the bios changed and asked if i want to load defualts or enter the bios so i pressed to enter and it again asked for a password. than i went to reset the password again and after the reset the power goes on and the led of the HD flashes few secs and thats all! the screen doesnt show anything! can you help me somehow? its A205

    I would recommend clearing the CMOS, but I don't know where the CMOS clear would be on a Toshiba A205. If you have disassembled the notebook before and know where the CMOS battery is, try popping that out for about a minute, otherwise you may want to call Toshiba to see how to clear that notebook's CMOS.

    Take this with a grain of salt, but I did a bit of research and discovered that Toshiba's notebooks *supposedly* have a "backdoor" password of Toshiba (case sensitive) and that "Most Toshiba laptops and some desktop systems will bypass the BIOS password if the left shift key is held down during boot."

    There were BIOS updates issued by Toshiba a few weeks ago for all their line of notebooks because of this issue. If possible (maybe not) you can download the BIOS update and install it through the CD if not your going to either find a backdoor or take it to a Toshiba Service Provider.
