I have recently bought Toshiba 5200 series laptop (secondhand). XP home edition. Just purchased an EPOX bluetooth mouse BT-MS028. I bought it from ebay for £32, does not come with any CD, you suppose to connect and go.
On the Toshiba Service center screen/Local devises I have Toshibabt (not connected) and on the right hand side all available coms displayed. On the remote devices/bluetooth mouse is displayed (ghost). I can not seem to assigne it to a particular com to get it working. Could anyone help me please?

I don't know about that particular model, but you should hunt for drivers anyway and perhaps an updated Bluetooth stack from Toshiba.
Aside from that. You need to go to Bluetooth Places on your notebook and there will be an option to scan for new devices. Give that a try and see if it picks up your mouse.

Ergin,
I did a search for this mouse and found this link that contains the manuals & drivers for your mouse.
http://www.epox.nl/Drivers/bluetooth/USB%20Dongle%20CD.zip
Here's the link to Epox's Support Website:

One thing I found is that the manual keeps making reference to a dongle that plugs into the USB port & that it starts out in RF mode rather than BlueTooth mode. The software needs to be installed before you can use it (may have read wrong, quickly skimmed through). You may want to try these drivers and see if it works.
Another thing I've seen about wireless mice (not specifically BlueTooth) is that they need to be "sync'd" with a base unit, is there any "sync" buttons on the bottom of the mouse? With a Microsoft wireless, you have to start a "sync" search for your mouse on the dongle & mouse so they see each other. DOn't know if it's the same case here, but worth looking into.
Good Luck!

Yes, you do have to match the mouse to the notebook, it's called pairing in the Bluetooth world.

ergin,
I got the same mouse and a HP zt3000 notebook. The bluetooth on my notebook is using a WIDCOMM chipset and a WIDCOMM bluetooth stack.
This might not be the same problem as yours, but when I initially tried to connect the mouse I seemed to have no bluetooth connectivity at all on my laptop. Turned out, the blutotth chip in my notebook is attached via USB. My USB 2.0 Intel drivers weren't installed properly, thus it didn't see the bluetooth chip.
Are your USB ports working?
Also, you can get a Widcomm bluetooth stack at the Epox site. I installed that one over the (slightly outdated) HP stack.
Finally in the Bluetooth configuration I did a 'Scan for devices' and at the same time pushed the little button on the bottom of the mouse, et voila, I was cruising.
Hope that helps.
If you have more problems post a message here, I will monitor this topic for a while. -
One other thing, the mouse is HID compatible. It shouldn't use a bluetooth COM port. The manual mentions something like a HCI to HID converter. It can't see it on my setup, but it might be build into the Widcomm stack.
bluetooth mouse connection problem.
