I have a toshiba Satellite 2400-201 laptop but the CD-rom is broken.
My system clashes and I need to run recovery CD to get the xp work again..
However, from the bios setting I found out it doesnt support booting from USB CD-rom.
I have tried running dos with usb cd rom support but the .exe files do not support in dos mode...
Does anyone know how to run the recovery CD via usb CD-rom?

If your internal CD-drive is busted, just get that fixed. I believe you can get an extra drive from Newegg.com or Toshiba's spare parts.

It's not that expensive for a cd-burner, you can even get a dvd burner on NewEgg.com for like $80-90. As long as it's not like the IBM Ultrabay it will fit.
