my laptop was recently sent into tohsiba for repair, but due to there being liquid damage they were not willing to repair it. I need to do this myself and take the cover off and clean the insides, but when the laptop came back i have noticed one screw that has totally worn down and i cant open the cover becasue of the screw, any ideas on what the hell i am supposed to do
    thanks very much

maybe you can't use a cross screwdriver but you can try to use a philips (flat) screwdriver... and when it comes out replace the darn screw will a similiar one... i repeat.. VERY similar... otherwise there might be dire consequenses...

If it's not coming out with conventional means, you may have to go do something drastic.

    1. Use a dremel or some other similar tools and cut a slit in the screw so you can unscrew it with a philips screwdriver

    2. with a drill, drill out the head of the screw. This will allow you to take apart the unit, but will leave the rest of the screw in the unit. I guess 1 missing screw isn't going to hurt the unit.
