I've got a friend who's got a toshiba laptop (he didn't mention what kind). Whenever he leaves the cursor over something clickable, it clicks for him. Does anyone know of any Toshiba-installed software that would provide this "functionality", and a means to disable it?

Check out your mouse driver settings...it probably has "Click On Tap" (possibily by another name) enabled, with the touch settings too light. Either make the touch setting heavier or disable "Click On Tap"

It wouldn't be that. He described a situation of taking his hands off the laptop completely, looking away, and finding that it had clicked through multiple links in a browser when he looked back.
