Why am I afraid to even ask this question "is there a simple fix for the cpu fan spinning wildly at times" --- in other words, the cpu is going from 1% to 40-50% even with no programs hauled up. Yes, I realize there's background programs going, but why is it that this only started last weekend with no new programs running. I did do a "Registry Mechanic" run, but even after a *restore* this thing is spinning up quite wildly.

I'm using a Toshiba P200 with Vista Home Premium Service Pak 1.

If there does happen to be a fix or someone out there that knows what to do with this, please advise.

Sorry about this double posting --- it was intended to be on another forum. There should be an option for us to *delete* as there is an *Edit* etc.
