    Humble greetings,

I've a P200-MB1 Satellite and the fan on this puppy revs up and down almost continually. Right now, it must realize I'm writing about it, because ... no, there it goes again ... it revs up & down within a second.

A lot of the time, the disk light does not show active, and I'm wondering if this is a fault or a default, or should I move out of the way as it prepares for liftoff?

    A reply shall be quite welcomed. Thanks! :-}

I guess it's just taking precautionary measures :p . If you are really bothered by the fan, then consider using utils like speedfan, NHC, and monitoring your temperatures. If the temperatures look low enough, then you could change the settings for the fan.

Hey, thanks for the response. Is this utility *Speedfan* a program that gauges the fan? Also, how does one change the setting(s) for the fan?

use rmclock to lower your voltages and thus making the cpu heat up slower.
on my laptop my fan will always be on while ideling, now the fan cools cpu to 38 degreess and stays off till about 50. under full load, fan never goes med or high setting

Yo ho Allan ... I've not heard of mrclock. Will this be ok to use with a P200-MB1 Satellite Laptop & with Vista Home Premium?

What are the side effects of using a program like this ... has it been known to cause any melt-downs or programs to run slower?

Appreciate your reply by the way ... thanks.

    yep, should work

no side effects, computer won't go any slower, any of that. you get better battery life and your computer runs cooler

Laptop might reboot if the cpu doesnt get enogh power while you are try to find the lowest voltage you can set it at. you should be able to set your t2350 around 1.000V and it should be fine.

what i do is i put my ac and power setting to maximal performace since i have my voltages on the lowest setting at 0.950V from 1.175V.
i got 1 reboot so far since i started using rmclock a month ago

Jessi13k3 ... I just sold a Toshiba Satellite M40, and that little critter was quiet in comparison. I mean, it would rev up now and then, but at times, this one is constantly going up and down ... sounds like a wind storm that can't make up it's mind what to do.

What's your thoughts on this rmclock?

Also Allan ... will rmclock work with Vista?

Appreciate you folks coming in on this.

Thanks for the reply Blondie ...

It has to be a particular program running on this rig ... after having shut down all programs and rebooting, this little critter is quiet as a mouse. What think ye ... would that be a possibility?
