4 creating new recovery CD u can use Norton Ghost for example, but i guess there are many other manufactures as well. U need to create just image of the C partition and burn it to DVD. When u'll need to recover your partition u'll just boot with Ghost and restore image from DVD to C partition.

Personally i did upgrade to Win Xp pro as well, but i have had problems (installing MS patches), so i restored my XP home again. U have some tips on upgrade to XP PRO on M40? U know anybody else with good experience on this one?

right. normally, fresh installation of windows XP + drivers + patches should not exceed 1GB of Ghost image, maybe later u could do next ghost image consisting of your basic software. u can always check for the size, buy putting this image to your spare partition,

p.s. i'll have to start a new thread describing my heavy SW installation problems on M40
