Looks like your CPU doesn't let you read the temperature.

realtemp, coretemp all read temps off the core architecture chip. AS you have a P4 chip, it won't work.
Download the PC Wizard 2008 bundle, should work for you.
    PC WIZARD 2008
    *Edit*

Never mind, just tried it on the work desktop's Northwood P4, wont work with non core architecture either.
    Hmm lets see. Try speedfan.

    Speedfan

odd. could be a bad sensor then.
I used speedfan on the work northwood and it was fine.

i am surprised hwmonitor didnt work for you. what about notebook hardware control? those 2 are the only ones that give me cpu temp readings, hwmonitor (with functioning sidebar gadget) also gave me my Graphics temp and my hdd temp (and uses less resources than NHC)... with hwmonitor's sidebar gadget you have to set it up manually in the preferences section to get anything to show up...

Have you checked the BIOS? It may show the temperature there (but less likely as it is a laptop). Otherwise I don't know what to suggest, HWMonitor has always worked on everything I tried it with.
