i checked the website and couldnt really tell how to get an update. i downloaded that driver checker, but dont know if its better to update all of the things that it says i should.

i dont know if you can see this, but heres what its telling me to update. http://driveragent.com/driveragent_...rral=257&PHPSESSID=vet29mns0m7m8ardak0d6t03f0

Its really just trial and error with these drivers, Some may work well and give good benchmarks but have little problems like you mentioned (downclocking) others may not do that and be perfect but may not benchmark as high. Just try a few and test them,

Im using Vista x64 and drivers 178.15 from this site, Mine downclock when on battery to low power 3d clocks but im not bothered about it, They are stable enough for me for now and give good benchmarks.

Tornbacchus well I tried Dox's 178.24 customized driver for Vista 64. I was the one talking about laptopvid2go drivers downclocking but I just installed these today and got 200 pt boost in 3dmark06 and IT DOESN'T DOWNCLOCK. But I suggest that when you upgrade to these DO NOT RUN driver sweeper. Just uninstall the official drivers through control panel> reboot> then install Dox's 178.24.

I have the Vista 64 version so I don't know about the 32 bit and I also got his latest 1.1 version. Download from here http://laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21250 and save to a new folder on your desktop, extract it then run the execute. I'm assuming that when I run driver sweeper that it removes important registry settings that allow the x305 not to lose performance on battery. Either that or 178.13 downclocks. Oh and just be sure to create a restore point before proceeding.

Edit: I updated the dead link you can try now.

also, there is a feature in the registry that turns down the powermizer feature so it wont downclock no matter what. and i think that the drivers from toshiba are good enough. but try what u want, and tell me ur benchmarks.

nah, ive tried everything. ive uninstalled it, deleted all files of it etc.

when i click to install it again, it takes about 30 seconds for the UAC message to pop up, i click allow, then nothing happens. i dont know whats happened. ive tried a few restarts too.

Dude55 with Dox's 178.24 Vista 64 I get 7495 in 3dm6 200 pts more than the Toshiba driver. And this is on stock clocks. Also I don't get the downclocking maybe because I didn't use driver sweeper and just uninstalled and installed. I want to try out 180.40 but right now I don't wanna change anything. If you're willing to try it or anyone else with a x305\x300 with 9700m gts please let me know how the 180.40 (farcry 2 drivers) performs and if it downclocks on battery at all.

u can prevent it from downclocking in the registry. google it. i believe the feature is known as powermizer. and jacob, try my superclocks. you should get at least 7900 with them.
