Usually it explains how to do on the page where you download it. Sometimes you can do it within Windows, sometimes not. I would update the bios if you have issues that need resolving.

I'd think twice about a bios update unless your already having problems, I updated my P-30 and scared the hell outta myself when it locked up twice within 10 minutes of the update. I think it was a certain program i had running at the time but i'm not certain. After un-installing the program and a couple reboots it seems to have settled down, no lockups since. (about 3 months). But even with that program before the update i never locked up. Here is Toshiba Canada's site to download for drivers for just about any Toshiba laptop http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_byModel.htm , the A-70 is listed here with a windows based bios update to version 1.5. good luck if you decide to try.

I'd only download the BIOS from Toshiba - no where else. Updating the BIOS (AKA "Flashing the BIOS") shouldn't be too hard. All you have to do is close out all of the programs currently running, flash the BIOS from Toshiba, then restart the computer.
