I posted this in the software section, too -- but people frequenting the Toshiba board have helped me out a lot in the past. Thanks for looking...

I have the newest version of iTunes. Everything about my computer works perfectly. iTunes runs fine, too, except I just discovered that it freezes (the program, not the whole computer) everytime I try to burn a CD. Anyone have any suggestions; as the people at Apple seem to be confounded. I ran a diagnostics, which I do not understand at all. Thought maybe someone could clue me in. Thank you.

If you have multiple drives on the same IDE or SCSI bus, these drives may interfere with each other.
Some computers need an update to the ATA or IDE bus driver, or Intel chipset. If iTunes has problems recognizing CDs or hanging or crashing while importing or burning CDs, check the support site for the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard.

Have you tried burning CDs with something other than iTunes to make sure the problem is with iTunes, not something else? If you make a folder with just mp3s (or whatever you want to burn), or if you select a bunch of mp3s in a mixed folder in Windows Explorer, an option will appear on the sidebar on the left to burn them to a CD.

Matsh!ta drives are notoriously unreliable. Try searching the Toshiba forum for other threads on them as there have been a few. There may be some help in there.
