this will solve the ddr version dispute about the current best buy model. im sure all here interested in the bb model would be very greatful. also maybe some 3dmark scores to compare. i know this would put my mind to rest on the topic and i can go get me one.. thanks in advance
-
I got the BB model a couple days ago and got a 3dmark06 of around 4200.....and yesterday i upgraded the CPU to a T7500..now i get 4400 mark (with the latest drivers from toshiba for the X205)
-
please post at what res that was taken at
-
sorry 1280 x 1024
-
And to put it in perspective, my Asus C90s with the 8600GT DDR3 256 version got just around 4000 in 3dmark06
Ntune reports the 8700GT clocks on the toshiba at 675 core clock, and 700 memory clock -
Update: I loaded the 163.69 drivers from laptopvideo2go.com and re-ran 3dmark and now i got 4490
-
nice it seems this thing gets some good scores??
-
Yes it does....I also have a X205-SLi3 on order from toshiba with the DUAL 8600GT...so i'll post my scores from that when i get it.
-
Laptop stats in sig:
3dmark06 at 1280x1024 625/700 (stock clocks) 163.44 = 4467
That's bloatware uninstalled, updated with the windows hotfixes and the DX update.
note 3dmark06 has a processor-only portion which biases by 150-200 per processor grade (approx) in the T7xxx series of C2D. -
I guess we can conclude the BB X205 dispute is at rest
-
Yes its DDR3 on the 8700GT in the BB machine.....Its just too bad the 8700 is just marginally better than the 8600GT....hopefully we will see a 8800GTX in the near future
-
Yes, the BB x205 must be GDDR3... nvidia does not make GDDR2 8700s as that is not the design.
Marginally better? 30% better is marginal?
Are we comparing 3dmark06 scores from overclocked 8600s that you can cook eggs on with T7700s to underclocked 8700s on T7100s again? -
I could have sworn I saw a post about an X205 8700M overclocked at 6000+ 3DMark06 at 1280x1024?
-
(non-best buy models)
X205-S9359 have been listed as getting between 44xx-46xx
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=170847
In Chaz's review of the X205-S9349 he reported 4734 in 3dmark06

I got 4950 3DMarks (06) at 1280x1024, overclocked with the stock drivers. Maybe my X200-15K's T7700 makes some difference.... see the attachment for clockspeeds (In games with large-caliber graphics, and 3DMark06, the highest temperature I ever got was 70 degrees, most of the time, it stays below 65 degrees).
-
pretty sure Chaz's result at 4700 is 1280x864.
Stock drivers at stock speeds (625/700x2)
pumps out only 4200 or so at 1280x1024.
163.xx drivers add 150 or so...
163.xx drivers + windows hotfixes pushes the stock score up to 4400-4500.
Each rank of C2D processor you add is 150-200 due to the processor-only section/score. (to be fair, I have no data for how far the 7700 would push it as I only had similar units with T7100 and T7500s...)
stock drivers + windows hotfixes + 775/938x2 OC (68C max)gets the 5194 score in my sig...
If I can get this BIOS OC to work, I will likely be posting 5400 or so with 163.xx drivers at 775/938x2 with a 1.8 T7100 behind it!
If I had a T7500, and could get the BIOS OC to work and run 163.xx drivers, I'd likely be getting a 5700+ or so at 1280x1024. -

4467
at 1280x1024 with hotfixes KB938194, KB940105, KB938979, DX update (august), and 163.44 drivers.
That is at stock clocks 625/700x2 with a T7100. -

X205-S7483
All stock hardware (cpu-1.66Ghz), stock clock speeds
nvidia driverss = 165.01
3dmark06 1280x1024 = 4702 -
Z3r0, that looks like a 1280x864 score for your hardware.
FYI the 165.xx drivers are older than the 163.xx ones... -
-
OV10 have you applied the Vista hotfixes?
Compatibility fixes - KB938194
Memory - KB940105
Performance - KB938979
Also, might want to get the latest DX refresh if you haven't already (I'm using august's) -
Got 'em all... was just talking about his laptop. My laptop gets pretty much the same 3dmark score regardless of which driver I use. The newer drivers do make a diff in dx10 though(original Toshiba driver sucks). -
I just got a x205-s9349 last night, i tried applying the three patches you guys mentioned, but the "Compatibility fixes - KB938194" one said it doesnt apply to my system, is that normal?
-
The "Performance - KB938979" also failed. It must be that windows update already installed these. Thats my assumption anyway
-
I get 8350 with my SLI3 overclocked to 635/950. I'm using 169.17 drivers.
-
9486 with X205-sli1
core clock 630
shad clock 1260

I did it X7800 which im selling nowAttached Files:

Hi fellas,
I bought the -s9349 and OC'd to 729core/1458shader/848mem.
Scored 5210 BUT the res. is 1280*800...
...i cant see an option to adjust the res. to 1280*1024 - is that bc this model screen is limited to 1440*900???? -
Yeah, it's not a supported resolution, so it won't let you select it.... you'd have to hook up an external monitor that supports it to try it at that res...
-
I got the S9349 model as well(planning to upgrade the CPU to T7700 hope it will boost the performance ).
3dm06
Stock speed speed i get 4846 point
OC 734/1468/804 5449
I am using the driver from Notebookforums.com 169.09 of course the resolution is 1280x854. -
I have a Xli3 with XP installed. Got 6967 in 3DMark06 with 169.01 drivers. I'm at stock clock speeds.
if you own a x205 / x200 can you please post your gpu clocks and 3dmark scores
