for the 2nd time in the last 2yrs i have owned my m60, the screen went dark again, but this time it flickers then the screen went dark but you can still see the images on the lcd. external monitor works, so i thought i will just change the inverter again. got one on ebay and still didn't work. dont know if the one i got on ebay is also bad. if the backlight is toast, will i need to replace the whole lcd?

    thanks in advance

You can replace the backlight too. But it is a bit harder then replacing the inverter.

    here is a link: http://www.fonerbooks.com/laptop_6.htm

since you can still see a pictuer on screen I think the LCD itself is fine.

    Hello,

I have the same laptop and I can see my laptop's display with a flashlight. The external monitor works fine, but I am not sure if it is the inverter or the backlight. Please provide details of the part number and approximate price to replace these items.

    Thanks,
