    is CPU socketed?

    [?] Does anyone know if the cpus in the model 35X are socketed or ball-grid soldered to the mobo? I don't much feel like opening mine up to check.

    I believe all new notebooks utilize a socketed CPU. This lowers costs for manufacturers when a systemboard or cpu dies. They just have to replace just one part rather than both. Also, it's cheaper to manufacture since Toshiba provides a CTO (Config-To-Order) service in the US where users can select the CPU speed from a list.
