    If you have had good luck with technology "things" in the past and you are careful with your possessions, then I wouldnt go for the extended warrantee.

    Yes, I would recommend getting Toshiba's extended warranty. You may not need it, but it's a good saftey blanket. I had a notebook that required both an LCD change (failed, I didn't break it) and a systemboard replacement (loose power connector). These things happened almost 2 years after the original 1 year warranty. Luckily I bought the 2 year extension, if not, I would have had to dish out over $1000 Canadian for the repairs. The warranty only cost me $200 Canadian (I believe) and it did it's job after just the LCD replacement. A lot of people say that it's a waste of money, and you CAN look at it that way if nothing ever fails, but do you really want to take the chance? I know I don't.
