    Hey,

ive just purchased the M30-7101 after choosing it over the Acer Aspire 2012WLMi, lost out on XP Pro and a DVD Burner, but oh well, got a good deal nonetheless, i extended my warranty just in case, but now i feel like a fool as ive heard that most toshiba laptops arent that bad, i was just concerned with dead pixels, never had anything lcd before..

anyway, i just wanted to know if any other peoples had this notebook and would like to share their view with me...thanks

    Hey Kamiazim,

Congrats on the notebook purchase. Don't feel bad for buying the extended warranty. Even the best systems out there have 3 year warranties (IBM, HP NC Series). They have the warranties for a reason, just in case something happens. I've had issues with my old Toshiba Sat Pro 4320 a year after the original warranty expired. Luckily I got the extended warranty & that saved me about $1000 in total since the repairs were done under warranty.
Regarding dead pixels, you don't have anything to worry about. If they're not there when you turn on the unit, it's rare it'll showup afterwards. If a dead pixel does show up, take it in for service and tell them you have an intermittent problem with the LCD. Issues that are intermittent may not be reproduceable so the usually just replace the part.
