    What can i do about this issue. I am trying to connect from my modem to my laptop with a Ethernet Cable . i hook it all up and keep getting this
    message local area connection cable unplugged. What is the fix for this issue
    I also downloaded a driver for the ethernet from Intel web site

    It's a cable modem, right? The simplest thing to start is to try a different ethernet cable to rule that out as the problem.
