This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     messed with starup now fn key not working

    I made the mistake of trying not to have so much load on startup through msconfig... im using windows XP. does anyone happen to know which item in startup list i need to enable to have the fn keys work (it was working previous to my messing with startup) ex: fn f7 to make screen brighter. any help with this will be most helpful.

    nvm i narrowed it down and got it working so that i only have virus scanner and the function keys working... it was 00Thotkey if anyone else ever has this issue.
