my laptop screen is already full with fingerprints. Can someone tell me what is the best way to clean it?

If you don't have any Screen-wipes, I would use a soft 100% Cotton cloth dipped in dilute washing up liquid and wrung out almost dry. Wipe gently without rubbing and if there are spots, moisten the spots, leave for 30 seconds and then wipe again.
Don't use kitchen towel or paper tissues as these may be abrasive though I find Kleenex Man sized tissues fine for cleaning glasses.
There will be other opinions....... -
Microfiber cloths do a pretty good job on glossy screens.

You can use a Microfiber cloth. They cost around $5 each.

Or what about a tissue? Soft and cheap. That's what I have always used.

I find the best way to remove greasy stains like finger marks is with something like mr muscle window cleaner. However you have be very careful. Spray some on a bit of kitchen paper towel and VERY gently wipe over the marks to remove them. Other than that, lint-free cloths are great for dusting your screen.

I now only use tissues moistened with water. Seems much more organic. -
In 2003 I bought a Sony LCD rear projection wide screen 50inch TV that had this coating on it. There was all kinds of warnings in the book about using any harsh cleaning chemicals or it would remove the coating. I looked and looked for something that would work.
I finally got MONSTER LCD cleaner. Its from the company that makes Monster cables. Anyhow there are two sizes both come with a micro-fiber cloth (a big one) and the bottle of solution that is specifically made for TV's and LCD screens. It works great and I use it on all of my computer LCD's and my two big screen TV's. I usually get it at Best Buy but I am sure they sell it at any big electronics store. -

No I would put the Mr. Muscle back in the cleaning cupboard along with anyother household cleaners you may have
Unless you have something like SGT Lindy suggested, a specially formulated solution for monitors, I would reccomend that you just stick with the essence of life... water. -

It does providing the monitor is not caked with filth, so for dust and light smudge marks the tissue and water method will be fine but if it is (caked with filth) you may have to wipe with a moist tissue, then wipe with a dry one, then again with a moist one and then again with a dry one. Repeat until clean.
I have found that is the best method for breaking down oily fingerprints. Also don't be afraid to ply your monitor with some preassure but not too much, and make sure it is off when you are cleaning it! -
I've also heard that water with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol mixed in makes a good cleaning solution if you don't want to pay for a cleaner. 50/50 mix is recommended.
I'm also a little concerned about the tissues, as they may be causing tiny scratches on your screen's surface. -

So long as they are decent quality tissues I have had no issues (... that rhymes
). I do agree with crisyano's suggestion of Isopropyl Alcohol, so long as it is not full strength. Isopropyl Alcohol is an invaluable household item, great for cleaning CD's. I dont know where I would be without it!

There is a product called kimwipes made by bayer. A single-ply tissue which is lint free. My Dad uses them on his glasses, they work pretty well. I'm a fan of the microfiber towel & a little water if it's really necessary.
