    my shiba wont read 3 gigs of ram

    is there anything i can do about it, the support link at shiba talks bout it, but i dont get a resolve. i got the 2.5 bios.

    it will only read two...
    i have 3...
    so what do i need to do?

    What OS do you have installed? Vista 32bit has issues recognizing sometimes. It only recognizes up to 3GB ram. After that you need Vista 64. I suggest you switch slots with the ram cards.

    i have 32, and i have switched slots.
    i have a 2 gig
    and a 1 gig
    and some 5mgb's lying around...
    and it wont read anything over 2.

    You might need to update the Toshiba bios. Thats all I can think of.

    does the os that im usin make a difference or affect wether it will read 3gigs or not? im using a dell company windows ultimate...no serial needed.

    to upgrade your bios go to the Toshiba website. Select laptops on the drop down on the right then click support.... then downloads, select your laptop and them select the OS system and set it to bios. will show the newest Toshiba BIOS flash utility. Download run it. Select flash from windows. Then when its done. Reboot. Then go to the control pannel and system to view what ram it says and see if that fixed it. Other wise. Remove the 2 GB and place the 1 GB in the first ram slot. See it it read only 1 GB of ram. Then repeat with the 2 GB see if it reads 2GB of ram. That will verify both memory modules are indead functioning and redeable and what you were told they were when u bought them
