    need help with sound downgrade to xp

    Hi I just downgraded my friends toshiba a100 psaanc-03005c it orginally came with vista.. but with the configuration it came with it barely chugs along

    so it downgraded to xp sp3

    everything works except for the sound tried a number of realtek drivers without any luck .I sort of thinkinh it maybe the graphics driver that is causes the problem but I'm not 100 percent sure tried a couple of drivers from intel but it didn't solve the problem..here is the spec on the laptop...

    Did you install the Microsoft UAA patch before installing your audio drivers? If you didn't install it, then that is your problem.

    I agree, you need the hotfix for you HD audio bus, and you MUST do it before installing SP2 as far as I know. On my X205, you need the KB888111 hotfix for both the sound and for the modem to be recognized by XP.
