anyone know if this new BIOS supports Merom processors for those wanting to replace their Yonah chips??

the BIOS info shows new support added for:
    Added: CPU ID = 6F2 micro-code version 51 for 5500/5600 D0.
    Added: CPUID=6EC micro-code version 54.

I think this means the T5500/T5600 series of Core 2 Duo chips, which is the lesser equipped 2M cache chips. I want to install a T7600 Merom Core 2 Duo chip.

Any help is appreciated to decipher the CPUID strings shown here. They do not closely match the specs of the processors on Intel's site.

    Thanks!

Maybe you should check with Toshiba first before you buy the new processor.
