what do you guys think about safely overclocking a core 2 duo p205 satellite?

personally i wouldn't do it as notebook cooling solutions are already pretty limited, and by OCing you're only adding more heat to a small area.

If you overclock the CPU by increasing the FSB you also increase the memory speed, which doesn't have any active cooling and probably won't benefit from a cooling pad (only a few vents at front of laptop). My TL-56 runs the DDR2 667mhz RAM at 600mhz (effective) so it allows me to overclock the CPU upto 2ghz with the RAM back at 667mhz (so I'm not overclocking the RAM).
With my CPU, there are games like Crysis where that extra 200mhz definately helps. But I'm not sure you'll be able to overclock; some Intel laptops have a locked FSB (max multiplier is always locked in laptops AFAIK).
So, I recommend you first seriously consider whether you really think you'd benefit from the extra speed, then if you do decide to overclock (cautiously), get a Cooling Pad and undervolt the CPU.
Regardless, undervolting is a great thing to do (reduces heat and power consumption). You should have a look into that (use RMClock - guide here). But I can't recommend overclocking the CPU.
