I've got a buddy whos in a really crappy situation. He's got a Satellite p15 2479 and he needs the updated drivers for it, specifically the wireless drivers. He's able to connect to a wireless network by manually typing in the SSID and all, however windows will not regognize any networks by itself, even once connected. The "view available wireless networks" doesn't even bring any options up to connect. Can anyone help me out? I link to a full driver download would be great if anyone has it!!!
    Thanx!

What card is it? Sometimes the card makers driver is better.

Is Broadcast SSID enabled or disabled in the router settings? If it's disabled, it's possible this card doesn't operate properly when it's disabled. Try enabling it and see what happens.

Also, if you're using the WiFi manufacturers wireless network control software, switch to the Windows Zero Config and see if that helps or vise versa.

As Zazonz mentioned, try getting the wirelessd drivers directly from the wireless card manufacturer's website rather than from Toshiba's site and see if that helps.

we've tried several differnt access points, with no luck. Also, I did turn off the toshiba wireless software, and we are only working with the wireless zero config. still no luck. I am unable to find the drivers directly from atheros... Do they support thier own drivers???

    Thanx.

Are you certain this is an Atheros card? I know this sounds like a stupid question, but my brother recently bought an M300 and he told me it was an Atheros card. When I reloaded his OS, I later found out it was an Intel card.

I don't know if Atheros actually provides drivers for their cards. You may have to get them directly from Toshiba. You can even try the Toshiba Canada website to see if these drivers may help.

Also, did you try enabling the SSID Broadcasting on your router?

Also, make sure you actually turned the wireless card on via the hardware switch on the unit.
