Just send it back right away, don't try and get a discount on it at all, over time the fact that it won't sit flat will drive you crazy. The bad pixel in the middle of the display is enough reason by itself to return it.

    Good Luck

Well, if the notebook is "new" and has a warranty. Why don't you see if you can get a better deal on it and then send it in for warranty repair. A $2700 notebook for $1400 or less with full warranty, don't think you can really beat that. Send it into a repair center and have them fix the base & top covers to eliminate the warped casing. While you're at it, have them replace the LCD as well. Some companies may give you a hard time because it's only 1 pixel, but just push the fact that it's in the middle of the screen which is very distracting. Once you get the unit back and everything is to your satisfaction, you'll have a full working unit that you like/love at an amazing price. IMHO.

You're right, this unit does have a 3 year default warranty. Get your money back! Toshiba will not give you any hassle on it, unless it's a refurbished model. You may want to call up Toshiba's Tech Support and ask them you check to see how much warranty is left on your notebook.

But, regarding the LCD, send it into a service center and see if they will fix the LCD. That's what they say on their warranty policy, but I know for a fact (was a Toshiba Certified Depot Tech) that they will replace it, they may give you some resistance, but will change it at the end. You probably just need a proper service center to do the repairs.
