I have a P100-801 (PSPA6A-028017) which looks identicle to the P105-S921 reviewed on the front page of notebookreview.com except specs are a bit higher - Duo 2.0G, 2G Ram.

How do I set a "battery miser" type mode? When I switch to battery the screen doesnt automatically dim, and unsure if CPU clocks down or not. Is there a toshiba App that controls this and where do I find it ?? -- The Australian toshiba website is terrible to navigate and this laptop is not even listed! Or do I need a 3rd party App like notebook hardware control?

Currently I get about 2.5 - 3 hours with wireless off and 1.5-2 hours with wireless on. I have found the Nvidia controls which clocks the 7900 card down, which makes a big difference. Also wondering how I much difference adjusting the level of power to the wireless would make as I would rarely go further than 20-30M away from router. An app that could make all off these adjustments would be brillant.

    Cheers

I think that if your computer is new, you will find it in the task bar. If remember well it is like a battery with two hands near it or look inside the start menu->programs and find toshiba or power control. If you click on that icon it it will open the power program of your toshiba. There you have to select the power scheme or modify it. If you only manage to control the processor performance then download notebook hardware control.

Thanks for the reply ahidalgo, but it doesnt appear to be installed. Not available on the toshiba site and there is only a recovery DVD, no software.

Looks like will have to resort to notebook hardware control. :(

One of my friends just bought a toshiba and it seems it no longer comes with the awesome toshiba power control software my older one did, which is tragic. i can't imagine using something else... it's so easy to configure exactly the way i want.

Wow, Toshiba dumped their power-management software? That's pretty sad - everyone I knew that had a Toshiba loved it. I wonder why they dumped it.

i just use windows and the Fn keys

seems presentation would give the lowest cpu speeds and id just hit dim to lowest

that was on the DELL w/ my Toshiba M105 i keep it on portable and full bright i get 3 hours

whats weird is windows doesn't report how much battery life remains on my toshiba it did it 1 time when i first installed windows

maybe those stupid toshiba controls messed w/ it cuz i noticed that none of the laptops in the stores reported it either :-\
