You might want to update to update you ide drivers and/or firmware if available. Also try some different discs as media quality varies greatly. What drive is it?

You can use Windows update to update your ide drivers. The chance that it is the ide driver is small, but it does happen. The firmware update can either be had on Toshiba's or the drive manufacturer's website. If you go into device manager, it will tell you which drive it is. The most likely candidate is the discs. You can use DVD Identifier to find out who actually makes the discs using the Manufacturer ID Code(MID) and look them up on VideoHelp.com to see what other experiences people have had with them. You can also look up your drive and see what media has been successful on your drive. Since I have never heard of Tycoon media, it maybe suspect. I would recommend some Taiyo Yuden discs. They are the best media in my opinion. You can get them at places like Rima.com. FujiFilm discs sold at BestBuy and elsewhere marked Made in Japan are TYs. Not the Made in Taiwan ones. Good Luck.
