hey all, need help here, hopefully someone can help, i am trying to upgrade my display driver to the latest one listed on the toshiba driver download page for vista.

during install it seems to get stuck while installing the catalyst control center, driver seems to install fine. I have tried several times to get it to install but its being difficult. if i cancel it also takes forever and eventually my laptop will Blue screen of death me and reboot, leaving the driver package not properly installed...

any ideas what i can do?

Try doing the install in safe mode, if the install interups there, it is either an OS or hardware error.

tried that, windows wont let me install anything in safe mode, says the windows installer is not available in safe mode.

i was able to get it to install (i waited a good while) but it said there were errors and to check the log, but there is no log as far as i can tell as it tried to get the browser to load file://c:/program. which doesn't do anything.

also i try to manually start ccc (catalyst control center) and nothing happens, only thing of the software i can get to work somewhat is the catalyst install manager (uninstall, or update (which does nothing anyways)) I am going to dl the drivers straight from ati, and see if i can get them to work, toshiba's seem to be problematic judging from this experience.
