well i think its a problem.
ok well here it is;
when u bootup windows vista, and after the loading bar and the vista logo, there is a screen that says please wait. it takes about 1 - 2 minutes on the please wait screen just so i can get to my user accounts so i can type in my password.
why is it doing this? is it trying to load all the programs? i dont think so, because after i type my password in, it seems that all the bloatware loads after that, and that only takes about 20 seconds, and doesnt slow the computer down at all.
so im just wondering what is taking so long to load at that time of the bootup. is it normal? also, after typing in my password, i get to my desktop within 5-10 seconds, it says welcome.
so thanks in advance, and this is really annoying.

1. Well, how many accounts do you have?
2. Download CCleaner to remove obsolete registry entries and clean up crap
3. Make sure you have an internet security suite. Run a virus scan
4. When did this start happening? -

1. i tried having just mine with a password, then adding a guest account, because i thought that just because there was mine, it was loading all the apps before (or something like that)
2 im about to
3 i have that norton thing
4 i just noticed it a few days ago, but i might not have noticed it at all since i got it. i had an x300 then returned it and got another one. i dont think the last one did this, but i might not of noticed it.
and just wondering, from the vista logo, how long does it take you, because yours is exactly the same as mine, but mines an x300, because i got it in canada -

well i hope someone can give me a quick fix for this, because ive done alot, rom system restoring to using ccleaner. i removed all the unneeded startup files, removed my user password and alot of other things.
if there is something actually wrong with this, im going to return this, even though i have all my stuff on here already. i really dont want to return it, but it takes about 4 minutes or more to boot up, and ive had it 1 week
please help, thanks -
Sounds like software issues to me. Why don't you try to do the Windows Restore and go back to the point or day where you just bought the computer. Try that and see if it still does the same thing. God Bless

my brand new x300 took 3 mins to boot up with the preinstalled vista 32bit from vista.
Reinstalled with vista 64bit and boot time went down to 1 min. -
protoz yeah I had the 32 bit vista on my first one I exchanged and now with this new one I put Vista 64 but can't seem to run 3dmark06. Have you tried running 3dmark06? And mine boots average but when it first starts the disk drive makes a lot of noise, does yours do that?

ok well i did do a system restore, but that made it ALOT worse. it corrupted my hard drive, making it so i cant even boot up windows. it says that the hard drive in not located and the computer is corrupted or something like that.
i just LOVE bestbuys return policy. my 14 days runs out on sunday and i just got a new x300 from bestbuy. it loads alot faster.
i think the last one i had had alot of issues for some reason. i checked the system log and it had hundreds of errors. not to mention system restoring completly broke the computer! well i am now on my new x300 from bestbuy, installing all my stuff and it works alot better.
EDIT: can anyone please tell me, or direct me to a site which would tell me what stuff i dont need, ie the bloatware.
i want to keep the main things like the media bar, webcam, touchpad, bluetooth etc. there seems to be alot of stuff that seems useless or unneeded. not to mention it ALL loads up with the start of windows.
the few things i think i dont need is the touchpad (just not at startup, i use a mouse), this zooming utility, v.92 modem on hold app (as i use wifi), cd/dvd drive acoustic silencer.
all this and usually more is running in the task bar. i dont want any of that, unless i need. it. all i like to have running in the bottom is the battery, wifi and windows sidebar
