Try removing the battery, and running the notebook on just AC power only. This shouldn't happen if all you did was leave the notebook on, under battery power. It should have just turned off or gone into standby. If using it on Ac power doesn't work, then there may be a procedure in the user manual, which explains how to reset the notebook, and that may help you. Otherwise, if you are under warranty, then you can let Toshiba take care of the notebook.
From the details that you have provided, it seems like its a graphics card or motherboard problem. If you have an external monitor, try using that with the notebook. Force the notebook to transmit the signal externally, by using the Fn combination. This should tell you if it is the graphics card that is at fault. Hope this helps. -
thanks ill try just on ac power right away... tried pluggin it in to my dads monitor but it didnt work... but i wasnt here and dont know if he tried the fn key so will try that again... my dad also thinks it may be the power supply... thanks for your help.

same thing happend to me, with my notebook. i´m going to send it to tech service in a few days.
what is "the Fn combination" ? -
The combination is where you hold down the Fn key, and press the corresponding F key to force the signal to transmit through the external connector. I'm not to sure of what the F key if for the P100 is, however, on my notebook the combination is Fn + F4. It may be different on yours, but you should be able to easily identify it.
problem with video card i think
