    this is Canadian prices....

is this the newest version of the Qosmio? and if so, how does the battery life hold up on one of these machines?

Unless there is something blatantly wrong with this machine, please dont comment with replies of other brands etc... cause if this is not good I will be sticking with a purchase of tecra a5. But I couldn't help notice the price, so if that battery life is even 2.5 hours, haha well i'd be laughing!

I think the F10 is the older version of the 15.4" Qosmio. In the US market Toshiba is releasing a 15.4" model with a faster CPU FSB, one GB of DDR2 RAM, and better graphics card but with less video memory than the F10. The newer model is also a little lighter and should have longer battery life, slightly. The specs on the newer model seem to be much better. The only things that the new model doesn't have relative to the older one is the lower video memory and the screen may not be as bright (but I don't know if this will be apparent to the user or not).

Toshiba has lowered the price on the older model as a result. They are apparently lowering the prices permanently on the newer 15.4" models, as these used to be launched and have a price point of ~$2500 but now are being released at $1999.

Good deals can be had on the older models now as a result. I'm also considering one of these two. I haven't seen the newer model so I'd be interested to hear someone's opinion on how they like the display.

Thanks for the info! I think I will have to pass since if this is the old one, it just doesnt have the battery life I need. I will definatly be staying with tecra's then, but at least they are improving the whole line up!
